Did I miss something terribly important? I try to avoid US media, not only because they tend to forget that there is a whole world out there besides the 50 states, but also because I watch the Red Sox games via MLB.TV and try not to spil them for myself by knowing the outcome.
Stefan, Don Imus called the Rutgers women’s basketball team a bunch of “nappy-headed hos.”
I’m torn on this one because 1) I’m all for free speech, and 2) I’m not sorry to see him go. I think some of the arguments to get rid of him smack of censorship, but it’s nice to see this bullying name calling that many “shock jocks” specialize in is getting slammed. I admit that I can find it funny at times, but it gets tiring to see EVERYTHING get ridiculed in such a mean way. I can’t imagine being a kid in school now. Teasing kids must be at a whole new level of meanness. Much like what the kids in Hard Time went through.
