I just read at DailyKos that Bush will be returning to New Orleans on Monday. They’re doing PR damage control. Guess what that motherfucker is going to do??
BLAME STATE OFFICIALS. The guy has absolutely no shame. He also told Diane Sawyer off camera that there’s no need to raise taxes over this.
Frank Rich’s latest editorial was great. He brought up an interesting parallel over the outright contempt Bush has for people that aren’t as well off. In New Orleans, the rich can get away and the poor have to fend for themselves. The rich get tax cuts while the poor and middle class have to make do without body armor in Iraq.
When is America going to wake up about this? The poor put Bush in office, and he treats them like shit.

If you were familiar Louisiana and New Orleans politics, you would know that the local government had been trying for a number of years to evict the poor, lower middle class, and small business owners from the place. There are at least a few City Council members who, if they hadn’t lost their own investments, would be celebrating right now (Jackie Clarkson comes to mind immediately).

RE: The Dvorak article. Remember that the story of Condi Rice shopping for shoes came from the same source that said that Clinton had fathered children with African-American prostitutes.

Did a cranky-yet-true cartoon about the slowness of aid to NO Katrina evacuees:

Great cartoon, Lea. And oh-so-true.
I think our best weapon against this administration is to put them up to ridicule every chance we get. Not that they aren’t helping.
